RESIDENCE IN MYKONOS VII / Up to date

The house, gifted with uninterrupted views of the sea, is informed by Cycladic architecture to create a composition of clear geometric lines and volumes.
The design was informed by the wish for complete integration into the island’s natural landscape; in this spirit, ornamentation was avoided, choosing instead to maintain the typological features of the local vernacular architecture. All the exterior areas were given great attention because they become primary living spaces for both the owners and their guests during the summer months. A series of different relaxation areas were created to cater to different needs throughout the day.
Special attention was given to the swimming pool and the outdoor lounge areas, for creating a series of relaxation spots. Large openings on the main façade turn towards the view of the Aegean, whereas the rest of the windows are treated like picture frames. Connections were established in a way that blends the indoor and outdoor spaces harmoniously. Elegant lines with the use of local materials result in a friendly, warm house that blends perfectly with the environment and combines traditional architecture with modern design.
