This project was about a housing complex in the island of Mykonos with building permit issued by our office in 2009. The complex consists of two houses in one of which we focused the renovation.
The ground floor level consists of living areas, dinning and kitchen whereas the basement floor of all the bedrooms with their en-suite bathrooms. All the bedrooms are connected via a corridor that leads to the external courtyard.
The whole area of the external courtyard was brought down so that the basement became the ground floor. The bedrooms were directly linked with the adjacent external areas in an attempt to unify the house with the landscape. Pergolas, sitting and dining areas, a bbq, a swimming pool together with an external bathroom where added.
Simple lines together with the use of local materials create a friendly and warm environment that becomes one with its surroundings and combines traditional architecture with modern design.
